ONE won a $100,000 prize in the US Army’s xTech|Disrupt Endurance competition at the Association of the United States Army's annual meeting in Washington, D.C. this week, earning one of five winning spots among 89 participants. After an initial elevator pitch, we advanced to the 18-company finals and presented our technology to a panel of Army experts.
The competition focused on power generation and storage for distributed military operations, where reliable energy and limited resupply can determine how long a unit can operate and how well the unit can operate undetected. Our selection is a strong signal that ONE’s technology and domestic manufacturing strategy address real defense needs.
Our position is unusual: we develop and manufacture prismatic LFP cells in the United States using our own technology and domestically produced electrode, without relying on Asian cell IP licensing or imported electrode. After years characterizing non-FEOC vendors for all cell materials, we are reaching further up the supply chain to bring a zero-FEOC bill-of-materials into production for our cell in Q2 of 2027. For defense customers, that independence matters alongside battery performance.
Winning the Army's xTech competition extends beyond prize money:
A simpler path to government contracts with sole-source eligibility across US government contracting entities,
Potential follow-on development funding via Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) funding, and
An operational demonstration opportunity at the Joint Pacific Multinational Readiness Center in Hawaii.
This win gives us funding, visibility, and a practical route to turn Army interest into fielded products. It also recognizes the work across ONE that made this pitch credible: cells, manufacturing, battery systems, and the team bringing them to customers.
