Iron is abundant.

Iron is the fourth most abundant element in the Earth’s crust. U.S. iron reserves are 43,000 times greater 
than cobalt and 8,000 times greater than nickel. We believe abundance will lead to a stable local supply chain.

Iron is low cost.

Iron as a raw material is lower in cost than nickel and cobalt. Iron has remained low in cost, over the past twelve months, while nickel and cobalt have doubled in price in the same period of time.

Reason 03

Lithium iron phosphate is safe.

Nickel cobalt manganese (NCM) cathodes contain up to 33% oxygen, which feeds a rapid combustion event during an internal short circuit. Lithium iron phosphate (LFP) does not release oxygen, so it does not facilitate the same combustion.

Aries II offers 350+ miles range.

Our iron-based Aries II has shown that it can match range and mass within six percent of NCM. Aries II provides industry-leading energy density and delivers more than 350 miles of range on a single charge.

Our iron-based Gemini technology enables 600 miles on a single charge, making it possible to handle real-world conditions, such as towing, high-speed driving and cold temperatures.
