Battery Material Scientist (San Francisco, CA)

Your focus as a Material Scientist will be to develop and scale new cell technologies to radically improve energy density, power, safety, and/or cost vs. conventional EV technologies. Your work will take advantage of ONE’s unique hybrid pack architecture and high power-density DCDC converter, which enable the use of cells with significantly reduced life, power, and temperature requirements, accelerating the time to market of new cell and materials technology. Your focus as a Cell Development Engineer will be to develop and scale new cell technologies to radically improve energy density, power, safety, and/or cost vs. conventional EV technologies. Thermal & Safety Engineer (San Francisco, CA)

Your focus as Thermal & Safety Engineer will be to develop and validate novel battery safety architectures. Your work will directly enable the use of cutting-edge cells with radically higher energy density & power versus conventional EV technologies. You will use a variety of analytic and computational approaches to model heat transfer and cooling, exhaust gas flows from abuse events, and other phenomena of interest. You will also lead experimental verification and iteration of your novel designs. Mujeeb Ijaz

Founder and CEO

Mujeeb Ijaz, founder and chief executive officer of ONE, is a battery systems engineer with over 30 years of experience in the development of electric vehicles and battery systems technologies. His career work has focused on furthering the adoption of electric vehicles through advancements in battery safety, range, and cost.

Mujeeb led teams at Ford Motor Co., where he developed Ford’s Edge with HySeries Drive, the Ford Fusion Hydrogen 999 that set a land speed record at Bonneville in 2007, and the Chrysler ENVI project. He was president of A123’s Venture Technologies unit, where he and his team led the development of Li-Ion battery solutions for electric vehicles, and more recently, a senior director at Apple, where he developed novel energy storage solutions. Mujeeb holds 31 U.S. patents in the field of battery technology and energy management systems. He is a graduate of Virginia Tech.
